RockRose Energy was established in 2015 with the aim of creating a low-cost exploration and production (E&P) business of scale. The company grew rapidly through strategic acquisitions of non-operated asset packages. In 2020, RockRose Energy was acquired by Viaro Energy.

Our Assets

Since the acquisition, Viaro Energy’s upstream interests in the North Sea have been consolidated through RockRose Energy, which serves as the company’s main operating subsidiary in the UK and Dutch North Sea. With predominantly non-operated gas assets in more than 30 fields, 2023 marks RockRose Energy’s return to operatorship. Through Viaro Energy’s acquisition of a 60% working interest in a Southern North Sea development, RockRose Energy has entered into a farm-in agreement with Hartshead Resources Ltd.

Viaro Energy

RockRose Energy relies on the track records of Viaro Energy’s board and management team to continue expanding its footprint in the North Sea via further acquisitions and organic growth. With more than six decades of combined executive experience in the oil and gas sphere, Viaro Energy’s leadership team is well-positioned to bring RockRose Energy to the next stage of development. The Group’s goal remains to invest in the long-term stability and affordability of the energy supply in the UKCS and the Netherlands.
